Jim Serger, Jr. is the co-author, along with his father Jim Serger, Sr., of GO THE DISTANCE: A True Story of a Father & Sons Road to Recovery. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Jim served four years in the U.S. Navy, living in Japan and serving on board the USS Independence CV-62. He loves to travel, and has been to 23 states and 13 countries. Jim backpacked throughout Asia; climbed Mt. Fuji, and is an avid sports fan. In 2012, Jim rode his bicycle from Carmel, Indiana to Orlando, Florida to support cancer awareness and research. In the customer service business for 18 years, he is operations manager at Indianapolis Airport. Jim is an avid reader, averaging 75 books a year. He and his loving wife, Tarla, have a daughter, Maggie. Jim is very proud of his family name, and would share this or any other story about his family, because he loves them unconditionally.
